Nationwide exposure.

The overriding vision at Edgevolution is singular in focus – make being a loan officer cool again. We hope to accomplish this by helping other loan officers develop their voice, create and support their brand, and most importantly evolve the content running through the industry.
This vision caught a giant boost a few days ago with some nationwide exposure thanks to the folks at Mortgage Success Source (MSS) and Mortgage Market Guide (MMG).
Dustin and I developed a video via edgevolution for MMG; a 7min narration entitled “How Interest Rates Move.” The video covers the intra-day movements of mortgage rates – how and why they happen – and some recent efforts by the Federal Reserve to hold interest rates artificially low.
The video was a hit with MSS and MMG, and they recorded a 15min interview with Dustin and I where we discussed our approach, the idea for the video, and why we decided to release it to the MMG membership (if you’d like to listen to the interview, shoot us a note). The video and interview was then released across their nationwide network of member loan officers, and the resulting traffic to (and interest in) Edgevolution (and sister site The Lending Journal) has been phenomenal.
So take a look and let us know what you think. Also, feel free to check out Mortgage Market Guide, and some other videos on our edgevolution YouTube channel.

The 20 best logos from 2009…
Posted by Nick Mallory on January 30, 2010 | 4 comments
Every now and then I come across an article – internet or otherwise – that simply has to be shared. In early 2009 I came across an article via Twitter – “the 20 best logos of 2009” from CreativeFan, and was instantly hooked. As per the title, this article covered the 20 best logos from 2009 – they are all, in a word, perfect.
When designing a logo, there are really only three rules to follow:
- Keep it memorable.
- Keep it professional.
- Keep it simple.
Most logos do a great job of hitting one of these three rules….maybe two. But few logos (or overall designs for that matter) do a great job of nailing all three; these do. So take a look at the 20 best logos of 2009 – while you’re looking, take note of how each logo hits all three rules, and keep them in mind when designing your own.
How to make categories in Facebook

Well our first official tutorial. Take a look at this great tip that Khai McBribe (the best I have seen on how to use Facebook) shared with me on how to create categories with your Facebook friends. This will allow you to only share messages and information with certain groups of friends instead of blasting information out to all of them. Enjoy!
Welcome to edgevolution.com

Welcome to edgevolution.com, a site that intends to shake the real estate and lending industry through cutting edge design, videos, print, and presentations that grab the attention of today’s A.D.D. driven consumer. One of the ideas I am most excited about is our tutorial section (or as I like to refer to it: edge-u-cation). We will share and teach you how to you can tap into your own hidden inner-creativity and master your medium and message.
I plan on adding an overwhelming amount of content, ideas, strategies, (along with my friend and business partner Nick Mallory and many other guest contributors) that will ensure this site is a must visit site each and every day. I am just getting started! Think of the endgame as a 100 story skyscraper. What you are seeing here today is just the first 10 floors of construction. We have a lot more lined up and ready to roll out, it will just take a little time and many caffeine fueled 2am design binges to put out the content and stay true to the vision.
The concept of what edgevolution will eventually become has been a passion of mine for some time now. I made a million excuses as to why I shouldn’t pursue my dreams and thanks to some key mentors in my life and countless people like you (who I graciously call my friends), I took the leap of faith and I honestly have never felt better about a decision in my life. So for those of you who have reached out to me… THANK YOU.
For those of you who are new to this site, I encourage you to share your feedback, questions, ideas and thoughts. I will listen and I will respond. One of the essential ingredients of this site is the active participation and interaction of those who are looking to take their lives, message, and business to a level you of passionate pursuit.
If you have not done so yet, add us to your favorites, sign up for our RSS and email feeds, and connect with us on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. We have so many exciting projects to share in the very near future.
I am looking forward to adding incredible value to your message and business this year. Let’s get after it in 2010!!
